Our recent study reveals that over half of financial intermediaries believe that infrastructure is seeing the biggest surge in investor demand among all asset classes in response to the COVID-19 crisis, over twice the number who chose equities and fixed income. Infrastructure has proven to be a favourable and reliable asset class during times of market volatility, and continues to attract the attention of both institutional and retail investors.

Our white paper, 'Stability in Adversity: The growing popularity of infrastructure investments in a crisis-hit world', explores this trend and outlines the biggest drivers behind infrastructure investments. As we emerge out of lockdown and the UK Government announces its plan to prioritise infrastructure, especially green infrastructure, in the country’s recovery strategy, it's likely this area of investment will continue to grow. There is clearly a burgeoning appetite for Sustainable and ESG funds and as more pressure is placed on the investment community to accelerate climate action, infrastructure funds will remain a particularly attractive option for private investors.
