North East engineering company undergoes period of significant growth after investment in local workforce

Newcastle, 02 September 2025: RS Industrial Services (RSIS), a portfolio company of Foresight Group LLP (“Foresight”), a leading regional private equity and infrastructure investment manager, has undergone a significant period of growth after investing in its workforce.

Following Foresight’s investment in January 2024, RS Industrial Services has doubled its engineering resource with a North-East based skillset, and its pool of apprentices is set to increase to 10. As a result, the engineering company has opened a new training hub to upskill its growing workforce.  

Metro Mayor of the Tees Valley, Ben Houchen, visited to mark the official opening, which will be an important resource for training its employees and tackling the challenge industry faces in recruiting skilled engineers. They also provide a wide range of industrial training, both at their facilities and at customer premises to support the growing demand.

RS Industrial Services, which specialises in compliance-led servicing, repairs, 24/7 breakdowns and installation of overhead cranes and lifting equipment, has partnered with Middlesborough College to increase employment opportunities for local students. 

Recently named Tees Business of the Year, it also has an Industrial Supplies division that supports customers with their requirements for PPE, workwear and consumable products, has experienced significant growth following recent major contract wins.  

RS Industrial Services has been trading for over 20 years and continues to build on their strong reputation for its engineering solutions across the North East with ambitious plans to expand beyond the region.
